Which Unity laser should you buy?

It comes down to two questions: how big is the room, and how do you want to control it? For bars and mobile setups, the RAW 1.7 is the affordable entry point; the RAW 3 is the club sweet spot. Need brighter, longer-throw aerials for larger rooms? Step up to the RAW 5 or RAW 10. If a lighting desk or multiple lasers are involved, choose an FB4 model for networked DMX/ArtNet control, and for festivals, touring, or outdoor shows, the weatherproof Elite PRO FB4 (IP65) is built for it. Still deciding? Read our guide to the best laser systems for stage & concert production, or learn how each control protocol fits your rig.

Unity lasers — FAQ

What's the difference between Unity RAW and Unity Elite?

RAW is the value-focused line — excellent full-color beams and graphics at the best price. Elite PRO is designer-grade, with an integrated Pangolin FB4 media server, higher-spec scanning, and IP65 weatherproof options for outdoor and touring use.

Do Unity lasers work with Pangolin QuickShow and BEYOND?

Yes. Every Unity laser is ILDA-compatible and runs with Pangolin QuickShow or BEYOND. FB4 models add networked control (DMX, ArtNet, Ethernet) and standalone playback.

What's the difference between the ILDA and FB4 Unity models?

ILDA models connect by a single ILDA cable to a controller such as the Pangolin FB3. FB4 models have Pangolin's FB4 built in, so they run over a network — DMX, ArtNet, Ethernet, timecode, and standalone Auto mode — ideal for multi-laser and console-driven rigs.

Which Unity RAW should I buy — 1.7, 3, 5 or 10?

It's about venue size and brightness. RAW 1.7 suits bars and mobile setups; RAW 3 is the club sweet spot; RAW 5 and RAW 10 push brighter, longer-throw beams for larger rooms. Add FB4 if you need networked or console control.

Are Unity lasers good for clubs and touring?

Yes — they're full-color RGB systems used on real club and touring productions. For outdoor or weather-exposed shows, choose an IP65 Elite model. Our buying guide has venue-by-venue picks.
